New York already has passed severely restrictive firearms legislation affecting law-abiding owners of semiautomatic rifles and standard-capacity magazines, and the U.S. Congress plus the Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland and New Jersey legislatures are considering similarly restrictive bills.
